OK, this started out as a post that was simply gonna feature a couple of “sneak peek” pix that I stumbled across of J. Sco’s upcoming Adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2012 line and it has now turned into an all out feature on pretty much the entire collection! Oh, and if you can count yourself among those who were part of the 2011 Jordan Concord Holiday MeleĆ©, then you should keep it movin’—- there is definitely nothing of interest for you here.
While I was a bit disappointed with Jer’s Fall ‘11 collection, I really am kinda digging a lot of what he has in store for us in the coming warmer months. Would I rock everything? No… but I really do appreciate his “out of the box” approach to designing these Adidas lines and the imagination and “F U” attitude that it takes to not simply do the same ol’. Initially, I was only planning on copping those denim Wings, but I am surprisingly intrigued by those kinda ugly/kinda fly cowboy boot/sneaker hybrids as well. And while the Gorillas, Leopards and USA Wings are all still on my “Cool… But Not For Me” List, I’d be tempted to change my mind if I catch any of them on sale at the end of the season… it ain’t likely, but it’s worth putting out there.
Most of the apparel also appears on my “Not For Me” list but that metallic Wings Elvis fringe jacket does have me flirting with the “Could I? Should I?” part of my brain. Elsewhere, the “JS’ Greatest Sneaker Hits” sweatshirt, the “chancleta sneaker sandals” and the Ruler/Pink /Guitar/Rodeo tracksuits are all interesting ideas, but I’m probably gonna step aside and let someone cooler than me rock that gear to what will surely be a much better effect.
All in all, an impressive typically out-there collection from Mr. Scott this time around that is definitely not for anyone belonging to the Footlocker Familia. Thoughts?
